An encounter with the Ideologue-in-Chief

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) describes her encounter with Pres. Obama at Friday's House Republican conference:

The president took his time in answering my question. He told me politely that he had reviewed our proposals and rejected them. The President completely avoided any discussion of TennCare, just as Secretary Kathleen Sebelius had earlier this summer. The President also failed to respond to where and how Republicans might sit down and go over our proposals with him.

In other words, Pres. Obama's bipartisanship is something that goes only one way. (Hat tip: RedState.)

The TennCare that Rep. Blackburn refers to is Tennessee's attempt at Obamacare. TennCare suffers from fraud and it quickly became apparent that the system was "not financially viable." It is not surprising that the Obama administration refuses to talk lessons that can be learned from the project.
